Advanced Adult Family Homes
Enhancing care with technology.

What Are Adult Family Homes (AFHs)?
Adult Family Homes (AFHs) are specialized long-term care facilities designed to provide awarm, homelike environment for residents. In Washington State, AFHs generally serve upto six residents, but regulations since 2019 allow certain homes to accommodate up to eight. These homes offer personalized care tailored to each resident’s needs, including assistance with daily activities and specialized support for memory care conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Most AFHs are operated by experienced providers, some of whom are registered nurses, ensuring professional and high-quality care.
Advanced AFH uses CCMS technology.
Families appreciate the small, intimate group settings of AFHs, as they believe their loved ones receive more focused and personalized attention. Additionally, some AFHs adopt modern technology, just like other long-term care facilities, to enhance care quality. For example, the Computerized Care Monitoring System (CCMS) helps reduce medical errors and monitors residents’ physical and mental activities. Most importantly, it provides families with real-time updates about their loved ones. AFHs that implement CCMS tools stand out as a preferred choice for families. These advanced technologies provide transparency and innovative care solutions.
